Continuïtat musical dedicada a dos grans clàssics de la música jamaicana que ens han deixat darrerament: Alton Ellis i Gregory Isaacs.

Alton Ellis va néixer a Trench Town l’any 1938 i va ser batejat com a padrí del Rocksteady, fins la seva mort víctima del càncer a l’octubre de 2008. Va iniciar la seva carrera musical l’any 1959, durant la qual va interpretar temes de R&B, rocksteady, ska i reggae. Ellis va grabar nombrosos discos amb els millors productors jamaicans, Duke Reid i Coxsone Dodd. Com a mostra de la seva gran popularitat, l’any 2004 va rebre la Ordre de Distinció del gobern jamaicà en reconeixement als seus èxits.

Gregory Isaacs va morir als 59 anys el passat 25 d’octubre de 2010 de cèncer de pulmó. Aquest artista jamaicà va debutar l’any 1968 en un duet amb Winston Sinclair produit per Byron Lee. Uns anys més tard va tenir un gran èxit amb el que es considera la primera grabació de Lovers Rock, “My only lover”. Durant la seva controvertida carrera va enregistrar els seus temes roots reggae amb els millors productors.
